‘Blueprints of a Garden’
Create your own Cyanotype Artwork
Join Angela Chalmers for an introductory session on creating cyanotypes, one of the earliest photographic techniques from the 19th century. In this engaging workshop, you will learn about the history, how to mix the chemistry, hand-coat paper, achieve correct exposures, and complete the final development. Using sunlight and ultraviolet lamps, you will create cyanotype photograms from three-dimensional objects, such as flowers, leaves, feathers, shells or sea glass.
Cost includes all materials and refreshments. It may be helpful to bring a pad and pencil to take notes.
Please do not wear your best clothes.
Aprons and gloves will be provided. Finally, consider bringing your own small, interesting objects, such as jewellery, beads, threads, or lace, to create beautiful artworks you can take home to frame.
